2001 Topps Heritage

Set Type: Primary
Card dimensions:
2½” x 3½”
Partial Parallel: Chrome, serial #ed print run 552; Pat Burrell, #CP34, is the only member of the Phillies in the parallel
Inserts: Classic Renditions, Clubhouse Collection, Grandstand Glory, Real One Autographs, Then and Now
Additional Information: One of many sets in which Topps recycled the 1952 Topps design. In what may be one of the cruelest acts ever committed by Topps against Phillies collectors, all the cards, with the exception of Randy Wolf, reside within the short-printed high number series; thus making this the most needlessly expensive and difficult modern issue for Phillies collectors to complete.

  1. I had no idea that was the case….and 2001 Heritage is one of those “iconic” sets where a Phillies team set would be really nice to have….

    • Well, it’s not impossible to put together — just needlessly expensive and difficult. Assuming you pay “just” $2.50/card (book price) for all everyone except Wolf (both his variations are just $0.50), putting together the set will cost $23. You can find them all on Beckett Marketplace, but some are more expensive than $2.50, and the prices there don’t include shipping.
