2010 Topps Allen & Ginter’s Celestial Stars

Set Type: Insert
Card dimensions: 1716” x 21116
Additional Information/14,000 Phillies Commentary: Inserted in packs of 2010 Topps Allen & Ginter’s. You know, for every stupid idea that somehow becomes the basis of an insert set, there has to be another idea that didn’t make the cut. After reading the back of this card, I’d hate to imagine how inane an insert set idea must be in order for it to be rejected.

  1. These were decoy code cards for the 2010 code….inserted at only one per case. Apparently, there’s one player for each zodiac sign?? These cards were crazy hard to get and expensive when A&G was first released that year.

    • Okay, that helps to clarify this set to me. Quite honestly, though I had returned to collecting full-time by 2010, I wasn’t paying any attention to the marketing material coming from Topps. When I finally first saw these cards (clearly, without any context), my immediate reaction was the one that made it into my commentary for this checklist.
